Social Skills Groups

Social skills groups are formed to work on communication strategies for individuals on the autism spectrum and other diagnoses. Groups are formed based on age and skill levels. All groups are accompanied by individual sessions to support participation in the group setting.

Many skills are addressed within the groups, including:

  • Developing and maintaining friendships
  • Learning social engagement
  • Initiating and maintaining conversations
  • Practicing pragmatic skills, such as turn-taking, eye contact, active listening, staying on topic, voice volume, and social space
  • Gaining assertiveness and self-advocacy skills
  • and much more.
